Lauralton Hall offers two application options for admission—Early Decision and Regular Decision. The Early Decision application process is for those applicants who know that Lauralton Hall is their #1 high school choice and, if accepted, will definitely enroll. The Regular Decision application process is for those applicants who are still unsure of which high school they want to attend. Please note that the maximum number of Early Decision applicants Lauralton Hall will accept is equal to half the available spaces in the freshman class. Important differences between the two application processes include:
Early Decision:  Applicants may take the entrance exam on either October 18 or October 25. Early Decision applicants may not shadow until the spring semester. Applicants who shadow during the fall semester will be assigned to the Regular Decision pool.
Regular Decision: Applicants may take the entrance exam on either Saturday, October 18 or October 25, 2008. Applicants may shadow in the fall starting Tuesday, October 7, 2008.
The Entrance Test is administered at Lauralton Hall. Preregistration is not required. A $50 test fee is payable on the day of testing. Lauralton Hall uses the High School Placement Test (HSPT) by Scholastic Testing Service (STS). Students should come to the main entrance before 7:45 a.m. Two #2 pencils should be brought from home. The Math Department has requested that calculators not be used on the test.
Application Decisions
Early Decision: All application materials must be postmarked no later than November 21, 2008 to be guaranteed consideration (Late applications will be assigned to the Regular Decision pool.) Decisions of the Admissions Committee (ACCEPTED or DEFERRED) will be mailed on December 15, 2008. The deposit deadline for enrollment is December 22, 2008.
Regular Decision: All application materials must be postmarked no later than November 21, 2008 to be guaranteed consideration. Decisions of the Admissions Committee (ACCEPTED, WAITING LIST, DENIED) will be mailed on January 15, 2009. The deposit deadline for enrollment is February 13, 2009.
Shadow Program
Is Lauralton Hall for you? You will not really know until you visit us during the school day for classes. Have lunch in the cafeteria and hear about clubs and activities. Students who attend all-girls schools become strong leaders. Lauralton offers you the chance to "do it all"—to be a student council officer, to edit the school newspaper, to score the winning run, to be a club president or to manage a team.
All interested students are encouraged to spend a day at Lauralton Hall visiting classes and meeting faculty and students. The academic day runs from 8:00 a.m. to 2:16 p.m. Please call the Admissions Office a week in advance to schedule a visit. Visits for eighth graders who are Regular Decision applicants are scheduled during first semester; seventh graders and eighth graders who are Early Decision applicants (whether accepted or deferred) may visit in the third quarter of the school year. Lauralton student hostesses welcome visiting students upon arrival.
Transfer Students
Parents should call the Admissions Office to begin the transfer process. Application for upperclassmen will be given consideration if there are vacancies in required courses.
Students must be in good standing and previously enrolled in a college-preparatory program. Transfer students are admitted on the same selective basis as incoming freshmen. An interview may be arranged upon receipt of the student’s transcript.
