> About LH >> Special Events at Lauralton Hall

Lauralton Hall’s special events are central to the school’s mission and inspire dedicated alumnae, parents, students, friends, supporters and the community-at-large to more fully partner in the mission of the school. Early in 2010, the school began an exploration of fresh, entertaining ideas for fund raising and friend-raising events. As plans for new, innovative events unfold, all the details will be posted here, so please check back often.
Major Annual Benefit Closing after Twenty Years
“Christmas in the Mansion,” a “showcase of the season” that was the school’s major annual benefit from 1990 until 2009, will not re-open in 2010.
After much long, hard, thoughtful discussion and consideration, in February 2010 Lauralton Hall announced the discontinuation of “Christmas in the Mansion.” After hosting the event for twenty successful years, the school decided to explore new events which will be less disruptive to the academic schedule and less demanding for the school’s dedicated volunteers and staff, but equally enjoyable and profitable.
Lauralton Hall is deeply grateful to those who helped make “Christmas in the Mansion” such a celebrated, successful event: committee members; the Lauralton community of young women and their families, alumnae, and staff; dedicated volunteers; exhibitors, collectors, visiting authors and musicians; event sponsors; and especially the thousands of loyal “Christmas in the Mansion” visitors.
The Special Events Office looks forward to the continued, valued partnership of so many who have been strong supporters of the school’s mission.
