The Academy of Our Lady of Mercy, Lauralton Hall, (www.lauraltonhall.org) in Milford, Connecticut, a Catholic, independent college preparatory secondary school for young women sponsored by the Sisters of Mercy, is seeking a visionary and dynamic President. Building on 100 years of tradition in academic excellence and commitment to single gender education, Lauralton Hall attracts 450 students from 38 communities throughout New Haven and Fairfield Counties and beyond. The school is located minutes from downtown Milford on a historic 30-acre campus which surrounds a Victorian mansion. The successful applicant will have expertise in institutional advancement, financial management, and strategic and operational planning. Excellent leadership and communication skills, inspiring collaboration and cooperation from all constituent groups, are needed to be successful in this position, as is the ability to carry on the traditions of the school, with its 6,200 alumnae, while preparing young women for success in the 21st Century. The new President will possess an understanding of the President/Principal model of administration and a two-tiered system of governance, and be comfortable working with a committed Board of Trustees and the Sisters of Mercy. A successful applicant must possess a minimum of a Master’s Degree in Education or a related field, successful secondary school administrative experience, be a practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church, and demonstrate a commitment to Catholic secondary education for young women.
